Video Clip Download : Videopimp

Since three years ago, I always following all Videopimp releases of video clips. There are two ways of downloading Videopimp release.

First, you can download it directly from the website : www.videopimp.org but the contents continually changing every a certain period and the video clips offered are limited.

Second, you can download it from IRC channel. This time I will guide how to download video from Videopimp channel in IRC.

• You need to prepare an IRC client such as mIRC, XChat, Miranda IM or others
• For mIRC or other client you must ensure this things set up:
  • Path for data downloaded
  • DCC options (make sure data downloaded is auto resume and no “ignore”
• You need to join server : irc.efnet.net by choosing from menu or type this in the console : /server irc.efnet.net
• After connected to the irc.efnet.net you need to join the channel by typing command /join #videopimp
• After entering the channel to find the video you can type command @find name_of_musician_or_title
• If your query is valid it will open many windows contained address of server providing video
• Then type /ctcp server_address_or_name_of_server
• After you are connected to server (DCC server) you can follow the the path written in the window showing result of your query
• To change dir you can use command dir name_path_contains_no_file_name
• After you change your path
• You can copy the name of file (take it from window which tell you the result of your query) then type this get file_name
• Then there will be confirmation whether you need to wait or the file is directly sent. But most likely you need to queue.
• If you don’t know what to search you can enlist the server name by typing !list. It will display you a lot of server active at the time
• Then you can pick up a server by use /ctcp server_address_or_name_of_server then you can follow the steps above to download the file (using cd and get)
• Choose server that has lower queue and higher sending file. It can be seen in the list. Queues (x/y) : x queuing from maximum y. Sends (x/y):sending x file out of y concurrently
